Parents prosecuted for children's non-attendance

This press release has been sent out by the council http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1210857about parents being taken to court for their children's non-attendance at school, some have been fined and one has a warrant for their arrest. What do you think about this? What would you do if your children were not attending school for whatever reason?
