My First Attempt at a Blog
Hi everyone, well I have been asked by the website editor to start doing a blog here on the website to let you all know some of the things that I have been doing during the month and also to use this as a way of informing you about interesting and important National developments affecting families. Please forgive me if I make some mistakes in the first few months whilst I find my style as I have never done anything like this before, however saying that I am addicted to Facebook!
So here it goes, this month I have been working really hard with the city's Parenting Team on planning and organising our next joint event - Men Behaving Dadly - I am not going to say too much as there is lots of information on here about what we are up to but weather permitting it will be a great day for the whole family and will really profile fathers in the city. I went to visit the Think Fathers shed on Brighton seafront, I can't believe they actually got a shed on the promenade and it had all the accessories as well! I have also been talking with Paul from the Food Partnership about our new venture together to seek the opinions of parents on food in schools, we are planning some exciting things so keep checking our website and newsletters for more information in the next few months.
Every month I also keep and eye on what is happening nationally which may affect local parents as well as what relevant national consultations are taking place. Here are some of the changes that are happening that I think you may find interesting and want to know more about, click on the link to go through to find out more information.
Government response to Lord Laming report
Extending The Free Early Education Entitlement: Discussion Document on a New Code of Practice
National consultation on changes to Primary curriculum
Consultation on Giving Children and Young People a Right to Appeal
And lastly if you have anything you would like to know more about or any ideas for my new blog please email me at tasha@bhparentsforum.org.
