True Love
I knew that my son had a few girls that have had girls declare their love for my son....IN FRONT OF ME!
This was not just one girl. There has been...
THREE!
It is quite funny really. He just seems to get a girl to really like him. This first girl, whom I will call girl A, has known him since they were three. He had started nursery in the summer term and she, being summer born, had started the following autumn term. Girl A is kind of like the girl next door to him. We have never lived very close. And in fact now we live quite a bit of a distance from each other. As I do not drive and she is a very busy committed woman we don't see each other very often and the children even less so. Which is weird as we spent almost two years extremely close and the children were of a similar age so play dates were always fun in my house as the two pairs disappeared and seldom came up for air when together. No fights......No tears.....just cups of tea, a chat and the occasional, often quite intently demanding "I'm a hungy" from one of the younger ones. I love those visits...... But I digress....As usual.
Well girl A (ok GA is shorter) is a bit dare I say girly, in the way she deals with things that scare her. She becomes quite dramatic and she is soooooo smart. That girl is smarter than me.....and more GROWN UP! (As her mother can testify to that, and would, if you asked her.)
Well half way through the term, GA had been knocked down by a boy in their class and she fell to the ground. Being GA she was very upset about it and dramatically refused to ever go back outside. So even on the lovely sunny days she would refuse to go outside. The Teacher and her assistant would take turns to stay inside with her and Dominic. Because he refused to go outside if she would not go out. I never found out how long this went on, but I suspect at least 4 days. I found this out the night I meet her parents while waiting for a parent-teacher conference. I was blown away by the kindness in that kid. I am sorry if I am a bit big-headed about bragging about my darling boy, but he is a kind person and that above all else is what is most important to me. What I mean is try, really trying to be kind and to accept people as they are.... DIGRESSING AGAIN!!!
With that action, he endeared himself to that girl. So besotted with him, she would speak of their wedding and what their lives would be like. Age appropriately though, which was so funny.
They went to the same school until the winter term of year two. We then moved to the house we are now in. During that time they became boyfriend/girlfriend and broke up sooo many times. Angst at her house....silence at mine. He would talk about it, but she would pour it out at home. Or the reverse with him very upset about it. But then we moved and I switched his school. We could have continued going down to that school. I knew many people that did it. But it wasn't what I thought was best. So we separated them regrettably.
That then resulted in him meeting Girl B (or GB as she will be known as from now on). That spelled the end of his off/on relationship with ...his girl next door.....or first love as it is looking like. Here I will end this long rambling monologue, but promise that this is a bit of a juicy story and will start this story again and tell you all about GB......soon.
