Having Toilet Trained Two Children

11th Nov 2009
Having toilet trained two children, 2 dogs and a cat and now back to a toddler, my experiences, tears and triumphs are quite numerous! Managing dry and clean days and the odd wet, dirty accident, things are going well. Having a new puppy in the house, things really do improve.

Having the house littered with puppy training mats has helped us all praise the new household member!

After a few toddler friends visiting and us visiting them with trainer mats in hand and joyfully being asked by a three year old "Can I wee on there"? Really does let you see the funnier side to such a difficult job for all parents, getting your children clean!

Well, two weeks down the line and plenty of anti-bacterial spray, pet odorise and carpet cleaner, my toddler queries, "Mum the puppy doesn't wet the bed or wear nappies at night, why do I wear pull-ups?

Having to question myself, I see my own fears and the hard work a wet bed in the middle of the night can bring. Answering, I said "Well, if you go to the toilet like the puppy before bed and again when you wake in the morning, the pull-ups can come off".

Two weeks has past now, a dry bed and no pull-ups!
