Big Nature Events
2010 is the international year of biodiversity and Big Nature is a partnership project to promote the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) in Brighton & Hove. Big Nature aims to raise the profile of local biodiversity and IYB with a series of events through 2010 to raise the profile of local wildlife and to encourage people to take part in nature conservation. During half term events include:
- Moments in Time - Monday 31st May from 11am - Join the Cityparks rangers photographing the wildlife in Preston Park, Preston Manor, and the Rookery
- Tarner Park Bug Hunt - Tuesday 1st June - Search for weird and wonderful minibeasts in Tarner Park
- Springwatch - Sunday 6th June - Visit Stanmer Park and watch sheep shearing, go for a ride in a cart pulled by Shire Horses, learn how to make a bird box and visit the farmers market

National Family Week Events
National Family Week (31st May - 6th June) is the UK's biggest annual celebration of family life aiming to highlight the importance of quality time together and promote the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. During half term events include:
- Teddy Bears Picnic at Hove Museum - Saturday 5th June - meet Goldilocks and Mama Bear, go on a picnic, make bear masks and listen to bear stories
- Enchanted Forest - 1st-4th June at Hove Museum - Help us grow an enchanted forest full of birds and strange exotic creatures in our galleries
- Family Photo Montage event at Westdene Library - 4th June - Create a photo montage of the whole family using items usually sent for recycling

Other Events
For lovers of the Disney Princesses, take a magical trip with Beauty and the Beast as the show arrives at the Theatre Royal, Brighton for the very first time. For full details and costs please see the website.
Classic car enthusiasts should head down to Madeira Drive from 12pm on Sunday 6th June as several hundred pre-1984 classic vehicles will meet there after travelling down from the Mercedes Benz Museum at Brooklands, Weybridge. For full details see the events calendar.
