Young Sport Personality of the Year (Under 21) – Charlie Grice - Phoenix Athletics Club
Sports Personality of the Year – Ben Quilter – Brighton Judo Club
Special Contribution to Sport & Physical Activity – Robert Metcalf MBE
Congratulations again to each award winner! Each will be shortlisted for the Sports & Physical Activity Awards at the 2010 Public Service Awards which will be held on 15 November at the Grand. So get your vote in to ensure your favourite is in with a chance of winning the overall Sports & Physical Activity Award. Brighton & Hove City Council invites nominations for the third City Sport & Physical Activity Awards to be held on Thursday 7th October. Nominations will close at noon on Monday 6th September 2010.
The Brighton & Hove City Sports & Activity Awards, working in partnership with the Brighton & Hove Public Service Awards are pleased to announce a new awards category with in the 2010 Public Service Awards. The new award category is The Sports & Activity Award and the winner will be chosen from the nine winners of 2010 The Brighton & Hove Sports & Physical Activity Award by a public vote from October 2010.
The Awards are a celebration of the most elite and hard-working sports performers and volunteers in Brighton & Hove. They give local people the chance to be acknowledged for achievements and successes within the filed of sport. We are pleased to announce that the Awards have been sponsored by DC Leisure Management Ltd and NHS Brighton & Hove.
Sporting clubs, individuals and groups are invited to nominate in nine prestigious award categories including last years’ new categories of Young Sports Personality of the Year and the Active for Life Participation Award. To ensure recognition of the cities top sporting individuals those shortlisted will be passed on to the Sussex Sports Awards after a winner from the winners has been selected for the Public Service Awards. To ensure recognition of the City’s top sporting individuals, those shortlisted will be automatically nominated to the Active Sussex Sports Awards.
