The Road Safety Team Needs Your Help

Is your child aged between 11-16 and would they be interested in completing a questionnaire on road safety?

The Road Safety team has been piloting an exciting new educational project at Hove Park School called ‘Routes'. It is a multimedia resource, developed by Sussex Safer Roads Partnership and the Puppet Broadcasting Company. Routes is designed to support the work of our secondary schools in delivering road safety messages to those who are among the most vulnerable on our roads.

To complete a full evaluation of the package by the start of next term, the team behind the project need a group of students aged between 11-16 who have not seen Routes to tell them what they know about the Road Safety issues it addresses. Each module is tailored to address issues relevant to a specific age group. Themes include pedestrian & cycle safety, blades and boards, mopeds and learning to drive.

A sample of at least ten students from each year group (Year 7-11) are required and will need to complete a questionnaire to help the team fairly assess young people's understanding of the issues the Routes modules focus on.

All those that take part can collect giveaway goodies and will be put into a draw to win one of five £10 HMV record vouchers (one per year group). So, if you know a student who'd be happy to complete a questionnaire then contact Matt Thompson at Hove Town Hall on 01273 290000 extension 0235.

The team will need to know how old the student is so they can send out the relevant questionnaire. Once completed this can be returned to a freepost address.

The competition closes on Monday 16 August so please get in touch today!

Please Note: Anyone who takes part has the right to withdraw their response at any time. By putting them forward we will assume that as their parent/ guardian you are giving your consent for them to take part. Names and contacts will only be taken for the purposes of the competition and will not be included in the final study samples. If your child is a student at Hove Park School we will not be able to use their responses as some students at this school have seen Routes already.
