Parents are being urged to take up exercise with a new ‘buggies and babies’ Healthwalk in Brighton and Hove. The new walk which is buggy friendly provides a great opportunity to meet new people, socialise and enjoy walking in the city.

Parents interested in the walk can meet at the Pavilion Café located in the centre of Preston Park on Thursday’s at 10.30am for a one-mile walk around the park. The first walk will start on October 7th. Fifteen Healthwalks a week take place across the city, many of which are also suitable for buggies and other parents with babies in slings/carriers.

The walks range from under a mile - which takes between 20-30 minutes - to four miles - which average one and half to two hours walking time. Each walk is free, led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders, and aims to incorporate cafes and toilets although sometimes this is not possible.

Getting out and active in the fresh air is a great way to reduce stress and increase energy levels which is good for all new parents. For more information see - http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1115507
