Kids Wanted for Live Art Show

17th Feb 2010

Brighton & Hove Children’s Festival is calling for children aged 5-11 to take part in In The Frame.

The Festival is looking for 250 children to appear for five minutes in a giant golden picture frame in Jubilee Square throughout the Children’s Festival in April.

Much like the artist Antony Gormley’s recent plinth project in Trafalgar Square, the children can do anything they like - for example read a poem or a part from a play, discuss an idea, perform a trick, paint a picture or interact with their audience any way they like. They could sing a song, play an instrument, start a petition against early bedtimes, or just use it as a chance to tell others why they don’t like tomatoes!

In The Frame will take place every day from 10-6pm during the Festival which runs from April 12-18, 2010. Children will be allotted a five minute slot prior to the event.

If you would like a chance to take part in this unique event please contact emily.atkinson@brighton-hove.gov.uk or call (01273) 203907 for an application form. Applicants must specify what they would like to do with their five minutes on the application form. The deadline for entries is March 8 2010.
