Easter Entertainment
This year the Easter school holiday is from 1st - 16th April with Good Friday and Easter Monday falling on the 2nd and 5th April respectively. This gives parents and carers just over a week to sort out their plans to entertain their children. There is a wide variety of events being held in Brighton and Hove over Easter and we at the Parents' Forum have put together details of just a few that might be of interest to your family. Information regarding all the events that we know about is on the events calendar - but if you know of something that isn't you can now add the details yourself using this online form.
The Brighton & Hove Children's Festival
The Brighton & Hove Children's Festival returns for its fourth year running from 12-18th April 2010. The theme this year is transformation and families from across the city are invited to take a chance on something new - transform yourselves, your environment and each other. Events include:
- Build a Story Den
- Brighton Big Sing Workshops
- As if by Magic
- Fishy Tails with Artifish
- Storytelling Mystery Walking Tour
- And many, many more

Brighton Marathon
Sunday 18th April 2010 sees the city's first ever marathon. The race route will take in the best of the city centre and fabulous stretches of coastline road, including glorious seaside views, but aims to keeps disruption to a minimum. There will be entertainment along the way, with an exciting build up in Preston Park, and a grand finale on Madeira Drive. The Grand Hotel is sponsoring Mini Mile Races for young people from 8 - 17 years old on the morning of the marathon. Big Nature Events
Brighton & Hove City Council Ranger Service is supporting events at a number of the city's parks. Big Nature is a partnership project to promote the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) in Brighton & Hove. Events around the Easter break are being held at Preston Park, Queens Park, Blakers Park and Waterhall Local Nature Reserve. See the events calendar for full details.
Easter Events
There are a number of events on over the Easter Bank Holiday themed around eggs. These include Easter Egg hunts at Hove Library on 3rd April and Devil's Dyke on 3-5 April. Devil's Dyke is also hosting an Easter Egg rolling competition on 5th April. For details of all these events please see the events calendar.
