Carers Rights Day
Carers in Brighton & Hove are getting the chance to grill senior council and NHS managers at a special ‘Question Time’ event to mark national Carers Rights Day on Tuesday 1 December.
The event, to be held at the Jury’s Inn hotel next to Brighton station from 11am to 2pm, is being organised by the city’s Carers Centre on behalf of Brighton & Hove City Council and NHS Brighton and Hove.
Senior health and social care managers will be answering questions from local carers about how services are provided for them, and responding to key issues raised by this year’s citywide carers survey.
The Question Time will be preceded by the screenings of two films. The first is the premiere of a new film called ‘A Caring Life’, commissioned by NHS Brighton and Hove and made by local carer Carl McAdam to raise awareness of the pressures carers face in everyday life.
This will be followed by ‘A Day in the Life of Eddie’ – an award winning animation made by young carers in the city.
