Welcome to the bumper Summer edition! There is a lot going on in the city over the summer so please take a look we are sure there is something for everyone. A big thank you to everyone who completed the 'How are we doing' survey in the last newsletter, we are working throught the results and will be adding the feedback to the website in September.

It's Play Time This Summer

The Brighton & Hove community play programme is offering local children and families five weeks of fun during the summer holidays. There will be daily sessions from Monday 26 July to Friday 27 August at a number of locations around the city.

Young Volunteers Wanted Now

Do you have a child aged 14-25 who lives in Brighton & Hove and might fancy trying something new over the summer holidays, why not try volunteering?

The Maternity Services Parents' Forum

Are you pregnant or have you recently had a baby? Are you happy with your local maternity services? Tell your story and share your opinions of NHS maternity care in Brighton and Hove.

Changes to Free Swimming

Brighton & Hove City Council at it's full council meeting yesterday agreed to fund free swimming in the city until the end of the school holidays and for under 11's until March 2011.

Playbuilder Put On Hold

Planned improvements to 11 parks and playspaces around the city are having to be put on hold as a result of Government spending review. Find out more here.

With the school summer holiday here already we've been finding out what's going to be happening around our city to entertain children, young people and families.

Safety Net Assertiveness Programme Summer Sessions 

SNAP (Safety Net Assertiveness Programme) Groups are funded by Children In Need and are open to any children aged 8-11 who live in Brighton and Hove.

Space Hop: The Summer Reading Challenge

This summer children through out the city can be part of a special space mission that will take them out of this world! Stop off at your local library and sign up to join the crew of the Ex-Libris on Space Hop, the Summer Reading Challenge 2010.
