School is drawing to a close and most of us from the Parents' Forum team take a bit of a break for the month of August.

 We have decided that we would send out a double Summer E-Newsletter on July 17th. 

We will be including our popular "What to do during the School Holidays" Summer edition, filled with as many fun family and kid friendly events and activities.  There will also be tons of other news about parents and their families.

There are a few things we thought you might want be aware of though since the E-Newsletter will be later this month.

The Reading Strategy for Brighton and Hove will be closing at 1 o'clock on Wednesday July 8th, so you only have a little more time left to give your views and be in with a chance to win a £50 pound shopping voucher. 

We are aware that the strategy document is 24 pages long, but you don't have to read the whole document to be able to comment.  We have entered a page number to each page of the questionnaire to make it easier for you to identify the key bits of information.  Just go to the consultation item and click on link to the survey.  It will open a new window and then you can open the attachment.  We recommend having both open at the same time to make it easier to use. 

You can comment on as much or as little as you choose, but don't forget to leave your contact number to have a chance to get a free shopping voucher.

The My Play Space Consultation for the first round of parks started last Saturday at Preston Park and Thursday afternoon at Saunders Park.  On Saturday there will be the two final consultation events at St. Nicholas Park (10am - 1pm) and Blakers Parks (2pm - 6pm).  If you live near or use these parks try to drop by and give your view on the park. 

Don't forget that this weekend is Paddle Round the Pier 2009.  Drop down and have a fun day with the family.
