February 2009

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

What a lovely two days we had last week when snow fell and actually lasted for longer than a few hours.  Like most of you, we had a crazy couple of days riding sleds and making snowmen with our kids.  But now we are back to work and present to you our February Newsletter.

Half Term Fun

Here we are again.  Next week is the February Half term.  We have committed ourselves to try and help you find things to keep your kids happy and your sanity in check, by bringing together every family friendly activity we could find.

Click here to see what we have found.

Internet and Your Children

There has been a lot on the news recently about the safety of children using the internet.  Do you know what your kids are doing on-line?

Click here to learn more about how to help your children be safe.

Consultations

Normally here we would have detail about our latest consultation for the CYPT.  We have a few on the horizon so keep an eye out, but for now if you haven't looked at our latest open consultation, the School Admission Consultation 2010/2011, then click here to get started.

In our previous newsletter we told you about how the DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Family) do on-line national consultations.  Their latest one is about Ending Childhood Poverty in the UK.

Blogs

This month Bad-Dad has become a Pirate Captain. It's all about Lead-A-Ship.

Not a Supermum asks "What do you do when you find out you are not perfect?"

From Next month we will have a new blog.  We are really excited because we feel that she has a lot to say. So Watch this space!

February Triple P Tip Sheets

This month's tip sheets are about setting a good example for children at home and dealing with stroppy older children and teenagers.

Web Link of the Month

This month we bring you YOOBOT.  We love this site and though it is essentially for kids a few of us have one as well because it is Fun and Educational Too!
