School Admission Consultation 2010/2011

16/01/2009 - 12:00
26/02/2009 - 12:00

The Department for Children, Schools, and Families (DCSF) has issued new guidelines requiring local authorities to consult with parents concerning school admission arrangements (including student numbers and admission criteria) for their local schools.

This gives us parents in Brighton and Hove a chance to comment on any changes as well as existing arrangements for admissions to the schools in our area for the 2010/2011 school year.

As they are not planning on making any changes to the existing criteria, this is our only chance to comment until they need to make arrangements for the 2012/2013 school year.

There are some changes to different schools in the area mentioned in the consultation document, but they have been or are being covered under separate consultations in their specific area. Any comment concerning changes to those schools (St Luke’s Infant and Junior schools, Davigdor Infants school, Balfour Junior school, and Patcham High school) should be done through the School Admissions Team via email at schooladmissions@birghton-hove.gov.uk.

The consultation document is attached below and there are other documents that give more specific details. Click here to see them.

Once you have read the consultation document, attached below, follow the link to fill out the survey with your views.

We will be closing this consultation on the 26th of February to give us time to compile your responses before we submit them to the School Admissions Team before the March 1st consultation end date.
